ENGLISH NUMBERS 0-100 LIST FREEBIE #1
ESL EFL BEGINNER ENGLISH NUMBERS 0-100 for all English language learners Create an instant reference resource for students focusing on high-frequency beginner English vocabulary. I encourage my beginner English students to build up a comprehensive vocabulary bank that they can reference easily whenever they need it. I also use these kinds of vocabulary lists for for quick vocabulary quizzes, spelling competitions and so on. I’ve put the numbers across two pages, because the size of the font is really important for all learners, but especially for beginner language learners, as they begin to familiarize themselves with words and spelling systems in a new language. I have also uploaded a number reference sheet I give my more experienced English learners - it’s in landscape format, with all the numbers on a single sheet, so the font size is smaller - students who’ve been learning English for a while are comfortable with quite a lot of text on a single page. Have a look at it here:

ENGLISH VERBS LIST #1
ESL EFL ENGLISH VERBS LIST reference resource for students focusing on high-frequency English verbs. I’ve found that the lists are a great learning support resource, and they’re really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class.
This list is a collection of 100 high-frequency and common English verbs that students generally need in the advanced beginning to intermediate stages of their English Language learning programmes. It includes regular and irregular verbs, with some modals. They are all in the infinitive form - it’s an important step in learning is to ensure that students quickly develop a useful vocabulary bank, are able to recognize English verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs - at that point we can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning the verbs all at once though - this is more of a longer-term reference resource that students can use to audit their developing English verb vocabulary.
There are two backgrounds to choose from - England flag (which I tend to use as part of a grammar display), and black wave - students tell me that this makes vocab lists more visually appealing, which is really useful when they’ve got a lot of vocab to work through and learn.

ESL EFL ELL ENGLISH DAYS MONTHS SEASONS VOCABULARY LIST
ESL EFL ELL ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING VOCABULARY Days of the Week, Months & Seasons of the Year I create lots of reference resources for my students focusing on high-frequency English Language vocabulary. I’ve found that they’re a really successful learning support resource for learners of all ages, and at all stages of learning, and they’re really popular with my students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well laminated for small-group work in class. I designed this specifically for my young and/or beginner learners of English, with a large font - this is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to English prefer this.
There are two backgrounds to choose from - UK flag, which I tend to use for vocab display, or black wave. I like the visual aspect of a background for language learners, who do have a lot of vocab to work through and learn - the background definitely makes lists more visually appealing for learners. Ideal for advanced beginner English into intermediate English, and really do help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their knowledge of this essential English language in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The questions have a multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling.
The questions range in complexity and challenge, and some call upon prior knowledge too, helping students make links and build bridges in their learning. There may be some words students are not familiar with - these questions give them the opportunity to learn and apply new language too, which is essential for progress in language learning. There is a significant amount of practice and consolidation of language and grammar, such as word order, punctuation, nuances of spoken versus written language, tense, and ordinal / cardinal numbers. This maximizes the learning potential of the activity, which I take further when we look at multiple choice questions seeking to identify errors - being able to identify errors, and explain what is inaccurate, is again a really important language learning skill, and really helps students progress successfully in their learning.
The question card template enables students to apply their knowledge of language creatively and practically, and it’s a really popular activity too - my students really enjoy creating questions for each other.
The resource comprises the following non-editable files:
= 36 differentiated question cards, 4 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper. Laminating is definitely worth the extra prep time and expense, as the cards are far more learner-friendly, and remain in excellent condition for years.
= answer key & answer recording sheet I tend to use these for more formal assessment purposes, so for class work, my students use their work notebook, which also saves on prep and paper.
= vocabulary reference sheet

These French speaking prompts cards are perfect for developing speaking skills - there are***100 question and answer cards and a reference book focusing on beginning conversation***. They’re also great for multi-skill language learning - they give students structured talk opportunities and will also get them listening, reading and writing. They’re ideal for independent learning, and***perfect for pair and small-group work*** - my students frequently select the speaking and writing cards for their free-choice learning activity. The prompt cards feature language and structures that your students are likely to meet in advanced beginner French and intermediate French programs, including a range of tenses.
The reference book includes all the questions and answers written out in French. Students find it a very useful learning support resources and it’s also handy for whole-group pronunciation and reading-out loud practice. Students use the Ideas, Notes and Next Steps template to reflect on their learning, and think about what they might reasonably do to progress in their learning - we use this to guide and inform discussions we have as a whole-group about where students think they are at the moment, and what they think they might like to work a little more on. They also jot down ideas for their own question and answers that they create for each other.
The question and answer card writing templates give students the opportunity to apply their French practically and creatively, as they put together both questions and answers for each other. This is integral to successful language learning. They use the reference book as a writing frame to help them produce accurate language . This is a great team activity too. We also use the cards for a whole range of games, and I’ve described how to play several you can start with that work really well for us.

Ten differentiated word searches, focusing on 25 fruits in Spanish, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. The fruits include masculine, feminine, singular and plural, with a blend of definite and indefinite articles - this really helps students think a little more laterally about language, and their new vocab - they may learn la manzana, and it’s useful to give students opportunity to think about grammatical concepts, and how la becomes una for example. There are high-frequency fruits, such as apple or pear, and also fruits which may be new to some learners, such as redcurrant or starfruit. There are a range of phonemes and sounds too, such as the letter j (uvas rojas), which is a sound particular to Spanish, and the letter ñ (piña), as the tilde + n plays a very important role in Spanish pronunciation.
There are 5 Spanish to Spanish grids, labelled with a lemon, where learners are prompted with the Spanish words, and look for them in Spanish in the grid. For additional consolidation, each grid also features an English word list that they have to complete, really putting their knowledge to the test! There are also 5 English to Spanish grids, labelled with a raspberry, where the prompt words are given in English, and learners have to find the Spanish equivalent in the grid. For additional consolidation and practice in writing/spelling in Spanish, they also complete the Spanish word list on each page.
The fruits included are:
green apples : red apple : bananas : cherries : dates : fig : green grapes red grapes : kiwi : lemon : mango : nectarine : olives : oranges : papaya peach : pear : pineapple : pumpkin : raspberry : redcurrants : rhubarb : starfruit : strawberries : watermelon

SPANISH FRUITS WORD SEARCH FREEBIE
SPANISH FRUITS WORD SEARCH Sopas de Letras are a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word in Spanish, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This freebie features a fruits word search with answer key, perfect for beginner Spanish learners of all grades. The fruits include masculine, feminine, singular and plural, with a blend of definite and indefinite articles - this really helps learners think a little more creatively about language, and their new Spanish vocabulary - they may learn la manzana, and it’s useful to give students opportunity to think about grammatical concepts, and how la becomes una for example.
There is a Spanish to English grid, where learners are prompted with the Spanish word, and look for them in Spanish in the grid. For additional consolidation, each grid also features an English word list that they have to complete, really putting their knowledge to the test! Learners can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on each grid. Having a good bilingual dictionary to hand is also a good idea, as this provides a further focus on developing literacy in both Spanish and English, and facilitates learner independence.
There is an answer key grid, so that learners can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. Answer keys are really essential - they offer learners an additional opportunity to engage with language, and they genuinely enjoy ‘correcting’ their own, and particularly each others’ work! They’re a great teacher time-saver too, which is always a good thing!
The word search is in landscape format, as I’ve found this to be the best format for beginner language learners. This kind of activity is really versatile - I use as starters, refreshers, plenaries or fun-time fillers at any time during the school year, as well as when I’m focusing on fruits in Spanish.

SPANISH CONJUGATION PRACTICE SAMPLER
SPANISH CONJUGATION DRILLS SAMPLER I’ve created a lot of ‘quick conjugation workbooks’ for my students and they’re really popular and effective. They’re a great way of practicing, reinforcing and revising how to conjugate all the various verb groups, tenses and moods in Spanish. I use them in a range of learning contexts such as independent work either in class time or at home, holiday refresher work, or individual activities for cover lessons. Students really benefit from several opportunities to work through the workbook, once or twice a term across a whole school year is a great way of both mapping progress and developing overall understanding and competence.
My quick conjugation workbooks focus on a specific set of 25 essential Spanish verbs in a range of tenses. They include modals, regular, and irregular verbs.
This sampler demonstrates a range of Spanish conjugation challenges, with the answer key immediately following the relevant conjugation questions. It will definitely give you an idea of what the quick conjugation workbooks look like, and how they are structured, and whether you think they’ll work well for your students.
The contents are as follows:
: Spanish high-frequency verbs list: Spanish-English
: Spanish -AR verbs list: English-Spanish
Spanish high-frequency verbs present tense conjugation: Challenge 1 with answer key

BEGINNER ITALIAN NUMBERS 0-100 LIST I encourage my beginner Italian students to build up a comprehensive vocabulary bank that they can reference easily whenever they need it - we also use them for quick vocab quizzes, spelling competitions and so on. This particular list is for my more experienced Italian learners, who’ve been learning Italian for a while - all the numbers are on a single page in landscape format, so the font is fairly small, but they’re comfortable with quite a bit of text on a single page.
My students all have reference resource folders or files - these can have a range of formats - for instance, sticking into a large exercise book, or punching holes down the left-hand side, and adding to files (we also use twine or thick string!). There are two backgrounds to choose from - Italian flag, which I tend to use for vocab display, or black wave - the background makes the list a little more visually appealing, particularly for beginner language learners who do have a lot of vocab lists during the introductory phase of their studies.

Ideal for cross-curricular learning French and geography featuring 41 countries / territories where French is an official language as well as regions and territories where a significant number of the population speak French as either their first or second language, such as Vietnam. Each word wall card shows the country and capital city in French, and its national flag.
There may be a number of countries and capital cities that students do not know, or are not aware of, so the word wall definitely helps them fully develop their general awareness, knowledge and understanding of the French-speaking world. This means we can really make the most of the learning potential of classroom decor. I’ve used the definite article, as I’ve found that this helps embed the concept of gender in French, and that proper nouns, such as countries, are subject to gender agreement rules too.
I use the word wall to get students talking in French class too during Talk Time for example - quick questions such as Vrai ou faux ? Québec est la capitale du Canada ? or Libreville est la capitale de quel pays ? are really useful to encouraging students to speak in French.
There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format, with two design formats to choose from - French flag or plain. Laminate the cards if you can, as they display really nicely, and remain in excellent condition for years.

= Workbook Format: 10-page workbook, with cover page, verbs lists, six worksheets and Notes, Next Steps and New Verbs page, where students note any points they’d like to work more on, map their progress and list any new German separable verbs they learn, which helps them develop a really useful German verb bank.
= Worksheet Format: worksheets can be printed out individually, or as a pack without the cover page, verbs lists and progress template, useful for quick revision, refresher, starters / finishers, and also generally saves on prep costs
The answer key is a separate file with six pages, and I generally print this out as a pack for classwork, with groups of students sharing an individual pack.
The worksheets also address a broad range of vocabulary and grammar points, such as direct / indirect object pronouns, negative sentences and various question formats. Some sentences include modal verbs and subordinating conjunctions, to ensure that students can practice locating the prefix with the verb, rather than separating it. Students may not have engaged with all the language used at this stage, and this makes the activity equally about engaging with new language, as well as practicing and reinforcing the current language focus.
There are three differentiated conjugation challenges:
= Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in sentence format across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding translation. Translating accurately is an important skill for language learners to engage with and master, and this kind of focused practice is really useful for them.
= Challenge 2: straightforward conjugation drill: each question gives a German infinitive and a target pronoun. Students write the corresponding German verb conjugation.
= Challenge 3: mirrors Challenge 1, with an increased challenge. Students write the German translation, and the infinitive of the key verb, from a basic English sentence, to ensure that they are able to produce as well as recognize both the correct conjugation, accurate location of the prefix, and an accurate translation.

25 high-frequency Spanish verbs, listed alphabetically Spanish-English and English-Spanish ideal as a year-round reference resource, and students find it particularly useful for exam revision, whether working in class time or at home. It’s useful for advanced beginner Spanish students to provide a language learning map, for intermediate Spanish students who are working with more complex language and texts, including authentic resources, and advanced Spanish students as a vocabulary audit and enrichment.
The verbs are all in the infinitive form and include regular and irregular Spanish verbs. It’s important in language learning to ensure that students quickly develop a useful Spanish verb vocabulary bank, are able to recognize high-frequency Spanish verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs in their first or home language. At that point students can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context, enabling them to produce more detailed and descriptive language. This is an integral element to successful language learning.
Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning long lists of verbs or other vocabulary all at once though: frequent and regular use in real-world practical contexts is far more successful at embedding vocabulary into longer-term memory. I also use the books for quick vocabulary quizzes, again at frequent and regular intervals - I simply shout out the Spanish or English verb, the first student or team to shout out the correct answer wins a point. I’ve found this to be a really successful alternative to more formal vocabulary testing.
The list is a great time-saver for teachers too - if you’re preparing resources focusing on high-frequency Spanish verbs for your students, the list is a good starting point.
There are two backgrounds to choose from - Spanish flag, which I tend to use for Spanish vocabulary display or Spanish grammar display, and plain.
